PERi-PERi Chicken by Nando's, Kuala Lumpur

I was craving for grilled chicken when I was in Kulala Lumpur, Malaysia and decided to try this very-known restaurant recommended by my office mate – Nando’s.


Nando’s is famous for its legendary butterfly-cut, flame grilled PERi-PERi chicken. Nando’s started in Malaysia in 1998 at Jalan Telawi, Bangsar – the 1st Nando’s restaurant in Malaysia officially opened on 29 June 1998. It is serving succulent flame-grilled PERi-PERi chicken with Afro-Portuguese inspired side dishes.


Nando’s chickens are marinated for 24 hours with their secret sauce until the flavor goes right through to the bone. That is why I want to go back to Kuala Lumpur to have it again. *wink* And oh, they have 6 kinds of sauces: Extra Hot, Hot, Garlic, Wild Herb, Tomato and Salad Dressing. I love Garlic and Wild Herb sauces.


My sister and I went to Nando’s NU Sentral branch. It is located in L04-05, Level 4 of NU Sentral. I love how relaxing is the ambiance of the restaurant. The interior design is like a combination of Zen and Rustic style. It creates an eclectic look that emphasizes nature like handcrafted displays which reflects relaxation and meditation.

We ordered:

Sparkling Apple RM9.90

Fun and flirty beverage made with real apple juice never fails to create a stir.


Peach Perfect RM9.40

White peach infused with Sprite and Grapefruit juice. It’s pure perfection!


Hummus with PERi-PERi Drizzle RM10.90

Pour smoky PERi-PERi oil over creamy hummus and dig it with warm strips of pita.


¼ Chicken with 1 REG Side RM17.90


Nando’s is like the Peri-Peri Charcoal Chicken of the Philippines. They have PERi-ometer where you can choose the level of spice of the chicken. We chose Lemon and Herb which a mere hint of heat, but a tidal wave of flavor.

No need to say much about the food because it is so good, especially the sauces. The chicken was insanely tasty with delicious Mediterranean rice!
